'A Taste of Spain' returns to Edinburgh this July

The free festival will take place at The Mound in the heart of Edinburgh and will be supported by the Spanish Tourist Office, Jet2.com and Jet2Holidays.com. There will be various Spanish regions taking part, all illustrating the flair and diversity of Spanish culture with giant paellas, flamenco dancers and even Spanish bagpipes, with musicians bravely putting their bagpipe skills to the ultimate test before a Scottish audience.

This annual Spanish extravaganza will offer each and every Scottish visitor the opportunity to sample and enjoy an authentic 'A taste of Spain'.

Music, dance and delicious ‘comida Española’ await visitors at this year’s Edinburgh ‘A Taste of Spain’, ensuring everyone will be whisked away for a day to the UK’s favourite holiday destination.

Several of the Spanish regions will be present to entice visitors with giveaways, tasty Spanish treats and exciting interactive activities. Sports fans will have the chance to try out an impressive golf simulator from the islands of Fuerteventura and Lanzarote illustrating the wide range of golf courses available, and with World Cup fever in the air, World Freestyle Champion John Farnworth, will woo the crowds with his impressive football tricks.

Gran Canaria will offer guests a unique photo opportunity where stunning digital backgrounds will create a fantastic “wow” effect while the Balearics will show their cultural side with arts & crafts and jewellery exhibition from Formentera and bagpipe music by Xeremiers from Mallorca.
 

For the foodies, there are numerous tastings available such as sherry and jamón tasting from the Andalucía region which will feature a professional ham carver and a traditional sherry pourer. An impressive giant paella from the Region of Valencia, cooked for up to 1,000 people will also be served on both days, with chocolate, almonds and liquors from Galicia making the perfect dessert. In addition there will be a vast array of street entertainment such as the Galician folk music show BoNoVo and Spanish band Anima Pop, both impressing visitors with their uplifting beats.
